Tata Tigor EV Key Highlights:
Introduction: Tata Tigor EV, which is presently the only mass-market electric sedan in the Indian electric car market, was created by altering/modifying the chassis of its ICE equivalent i.e. petrol powered Tata Tigor. That’s the same case with the Tiago EV and the Nexon EV. It simply means that the Tigor EV was created by adapting and changing the ICE Tigor to accommodate an electric powertrain/drivetrain.
Exterior & Design: The Tata Tigor EV and its petrol-powered counterpart, the Tigor, differ very little in terms of appearance. Only the front design, the blue highlights, the EV badging, and the unique wheel designs distinguish the two from one another. The Tigor EV gets tri-arrow patterns on the lower air dam in the front bumper, a blue colour humanity line running below the closed-off grille, smaller 14-inch hyper-style steel wheels, and blue colour accents all around the body so to make its EV identity evident.
Interior & Features: Tata Tigor EV gets more features and technology than its ICE cousin, making it feel more premium and up-market. Some of its features include Z-Connect connected car technology, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start/stop, cruise control, rear central armrest, leatherette upholstery, smartwatch connectivity, tyre pressure monitoring system, etc.
Battery & Motor: The Tata Tigor EV comes equipped with a front axle-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that can generate 170 Nm of max torque and 74.7 PS of max power. On the battery front, it gets a 26 kWh high energy density lithium-ion battery pack.
Drive Train: It is a front wheel drive electric car.
Driving Range: Tata claims an ARAI-certified single full charge range of 315 Km for the Tata Tigor EV.
Dimension: In terms of size, the Tata Tigor EV is 1532 mm tall, 1677 mm wide, and 3993 mm long. The Tigor EV’s boot space is 316 litres, and its wheelbase is 2450 mm.
Variants: Tata offers the Tigor EV in 4 different variants, all with the same battery and motor specs.
Colour Options: It gets the option for 3 exterior colour shades.
Rivals: The Tigor EV competes with other similarly priced EVs like the MG Comet EV, Citroen eC3, and Tata’s own Tiago EV.
