Tata Nexon EV Key Highlights:
Introduction: The Tata Nexon EV is the ICE-powered Nexon’s electric version. The Nexon EV has been developed by modifying the chassis and platform of the ICE-powered Nexon to support the electric powertrain/drivetrain. Even though the Nexon EV is a first-generation electric vehicle from Tata Motors, it has some capabilities typically reserved for born or pure EVs. V2V/V2L (Vehicle to Vehicle/Vehicle to Load) charging is one such capability.
Exterior & Design: The Tata Nexon EV’s exterior now features a futuristic design that is influenced by Tata’s concept vehicles like the Harrier EV and concept Curvv. The Nexon EV now gets a signature welcome and goodbye animation function in the front and rear full-width connected lightbar. Also, both the front and rear turn indicators now get the dynamic swipe function. All the exterior lights are now LEDs and Tata has cleverly managed to hide the rear wiper inside the spoiler.
Interior & Features: After the facelift, the Nexon EV now gets a more luxurious and premium interior which includes a larger 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman and a 10.25-inch driver display. Additionally, Tata has also added a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. Other new features include wireless charging, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, paddle shifters for regen levels, electric parking brake with auto hold, auto-dimming IRVM, 360-degree camera, rear blind spot monitor, front parking sensors, front ventilated seats, etc.
Battery & Motor: There are two powertrain options available in the Tata Nexon EV. There’s a 30 kWh medium-range battery pack and a 40.5 kWh long-range battery pack. The medium-range battery pack comes paired with a PMS motor that can generate 215 Nm of torque and 129 PS of power. On the other hand, the long-range battery pack comes paired with a more powerful PMS motor that can generate a max power of 144 PS and a max torque of 215 Nm.
As a result, the Nexon EV medium range can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.2 sec and the Nexon EV long range can propel from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.9 sec.
Drive Train: Nexon EV is a front wheel drive electric vehicle.
Driving Range: The medium-range variants of the Nexon EV offer an ARAI-certified range of 325 km. Whereas, the long-range variants of the Nexon EV offer 465 Km of ARAI-certified range.
