MINI has introduced its first all-electric performance vehicle, the John Cooper Works (JCW) EV, at the 2024 Paris Auto Show. This marks a significant step for MINI as it ventures into the electric vehicle (EV) market with a focus on performance. The JCW EV boasts 261 horsepower, 350 Nm of torque, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under six seconds. It features a 54.2 kWh battery, offering a driving range of 230 miles, making it suitable for both performance and everyday use.
One of the standout features is the “go-kart mode,” which promises a thrilling driving experience reminiscent of MINI’s iconic handling. Alongside the JCW EV, MINI also revealed the JCW Aceman, a similarly equipped model with slightly reduced performance figures.
Production for both the JCW EV and the JCW Aceman will begin in Oxford, UK, in 2026, signaling MINI’s commitment to blending electric mobility with its performance-oriented legacy. These new models reflect MINI’s shift towards an electric future, aiming to attract enthusiasts looking for both sustainability and excitement in their driving experience.
This unveiling represents a bold step toward MINI’s goal of electrifying its entire lineup by 2030.
