Introduction: The Comet is the entry-level EV from MG Motors. Designed & developed on SAIC Motor’s SGMW Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, it is sold under the Wuling brand as Wuling Air EV in China, Indonesia & some other international markets.
Exterior & Design: MG Comet EV is a compact electric city car with just 2 doors (3 doors with the boot lid). Its distinctive design features include a rear and front connected full-width LED strip, vertical door handles mounted on the B-pillar, small 12-inch steel wheels with aerodynamic wheel caps, a glowing MG logo in the front, rear windshield integrated glass antenna, and more. Additionally, there’s also a chrome strip that seamlessly connects both the ORVMs while passing through the front of the vehicle.
Interior & Features: It comes loaded with many first & best in segment features like wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, proximity lock/unlock, proximity vehicle start-stop, one-touch up/down driver window with pinch guard, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch driver display, and all-around LED lights (interior & exterior).
Battery & Motor: On the powertrain front, MG has equipped the Comet EV with a 17.3 kWh battery pack. To propel this small EV there’s a permanent magnet synchronous motor capable of generating 42 PS of max power and 110 Nm of max torque.
Drivetrain: MG Comet EV is a rear wheel drive vehicle with the propulsion motor placed on the rear axle of the car.
Driving Range: MG claims a single full charge driving range of 230 km for the Comet EV.
Dimension: Coming to the dimensions of the MG Comet EV, it measures 2974 mm in length, 1505 mm in width, and 1640 mm in height. In addition, its wheelbase is 2010 mm long, its unladen ground clearance is 165 mm, and its turning radius is just 4.2 m.
