As a commendable move towards achieving sustainability and minimizing carbon emissions, South Asia’s leading courier and integrated express package distribution company, Blue Dart has announced expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) fleet on the World Environment Day. The updated fleet will boast around 480 e-vehicles, including 2,3 and 4 wheelers.
This initiative highlights, Blue Dart’s commitment for environmental conservation that promises company’s ambitious goal towards fostering zero carbon footprint on the World Environment Day. The Company’s strategy to incorporate EV’s in the fleet, is expected to bring an estimated reduction of 15.05 tonnes of carbon footprints on a monthly basis.
Blue Dart is committed to tackling, climate change by signing the “Climate Neutral Now” (CNN) pledge from the “United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change” (UNFCC). To support this, the company will emphasize on planting over 111,000 trees every year, which should absorb more than 13,320 tonnes of Carbon emissions annually, once the trees are mature.
