Push for GST Reduction on CNG Bikes
Bajaj Auto’s CEO has strongly advocated for a reduction in GST on CNG bikes, which are currently taxed at 28%. He argues that, similar to electric vehicles, CNG bikes, which are powered by cleaner fuel, should be taxed at a lower rate of 5%. This tax reduction, he believes, would not only make CNG bikes more accessible to consumers but also further promote the adoption of cleaner energy solutions in the two-wheeler segment. The CEO emphasized that supporting cleaner fuels through favorable tax policies is crucial for India’s environmental and economic future.
