A monumental shift towards sustainable mobility is building at Mahindra & Mahindra, which has decided to transform India’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape. Five new electric models, Electrifying XUV and BE, will be launched. Mahindra is not only expanding its product lineup but also symbolizing a bold leap to take the lead in the Indian EV revolution.
A Visionary Approach to Electric Mobility
Mahindra has deep commitment towards electrification with its INGLO platform as a versatile foundation for flexibility and innovation. It can offer a range of body styles and configurations, thus Mahindra can cater to varied consumer tastes. With India’s urban centers battling pollution and consumers becoming eco-conscious.
The company is doubling down on its vision of a sustainable future led by Managing Director & CEO Anish Shah. “In India, EVs have a direct impact on reducing fuel costs and emissions,” he added, “underscoring Mahindra’s broader goal to shape not just the EV market but India’s ecological future.”
Mahindra Performance That Meets Sustainability
The promise of outstanding performance along with sustainability awaits Mahindra’s newer models. The battery options will be varied between 60 and 80 kWh. Fast-charging capabilities will enable these power units to recover up to 80% of the battery in less than half an hour. This addresses a major issue about EVs-charging time. The innovations are revolutionary and available for the on-the-go urban customer.
Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director & CEO for Mahindra’s Auto and Farm sectors, said, “We believe that these models will be extremely well-received by customers seeking luxury and performance.”
Disrupting the Luxury Segment with Competitive Pricing
Mahindra and Mahindra is foraying into the luxury EV segment that the company is targeting towards a market ruled by brands like Mercedes-Benz and BMW. These premium models are below ₹35 lakh, offering high-end features at a more affordable price that could disrupt the luxury market and attract consumers who seek the good things in life. “As desirable products come into the market, demand will follow, said Anish Shah.” This is the new approach where EVs should be made appealing rather than merely accessible, and the idea of achieving widespread adoption in India will flourish.
