Srivaru Holding Limited, a Nasdaq-listed company under the ticker symbol “SVMH,” has introduced the PRANA 2.0 electric motorcycle, with prices starting at INR 2,55,150.

The Founder and CEO of Srivaru Motors, Mohanraj Ramasamy, unveiled the electric bike at the launch event in Chennai. Deliveries are expected to start by the end of August 2024. The launch included two product variants: the PRANA 2.0 Grand and Elite.
Mohanraj Ramasamy, the Founder and CEO of Srivaru Motors, highlighted that Tamil Nadu contributes over 40% of India’s electric vehicle demand, making it a key player in a rapidly expanding market. In 2023, India’s motorcycle market generated revenues exceeding USD 25.6 billion, with projected growth to USD 36.1 billion by 2027. “By 2030, electric motorcycles are projected to capture 50% of the market share, up from the current 3% in India. This shift is expected to help India move towards a low-carbon economy.”
The company’s first facility started operations in Coimbatore in 2017. The latest version of the electric bike, PRANA 2.0, has undergone extensive testing for almost two years and now includes over 100 new components compared to its previous iteration. The manufacturing facility can produce over 2,000 monthly units on a single production line during one shift. With our advanced automated assembly and testing lines, we can increase production to meet growing market demand quickly, he added. The company is collaborating with iVP Semiconductor to develop the necessary electronics for PRANA and future products.
Configuration & Features
The vehicle boasts impressive performance, with the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in less than 4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 123 km/h. It offers a range of 250 km on a single charge. Additionally, it comes equipped with a 72V LFP battery pack, available in either a 5.0 kWh (Grand) or 8.44 kWh (Elite) capacity, providing versatile options to suit individual needs. The vehicle features a highly efficient BLDC Motor and an air-cooled BLDC controller with an operating voltage range of 42-72 V DC.
Yuvaraj Sankar, the Director of Engineering at Srivaru Motors, highlighted that the battery pack comprises 46120 cells. The vehicle provides four driving modes, each delivering unique user ride experiences through vehicle performance and torque variations. It also includes a reverse mode to facilitate convenient parking assistance. PRANA holds several granted patents and uses the highly efficient in-wheel motor with a detachable rim, which improves serviceability.
