Tata Nexon EV Buyers Shifting to Curvv EV
The Tata Nexon EV, once a leading product in Tata Motors’ electric vehicle lineup, is now facing competition not just from rival brands but also from Tata’s own recently launched Curvv EV. This shift in consumer preference towards the Curvv EV is happening faster than anticipated, despite the Curvv’s higher price point.
Curvv EV vs Nexon EV Pricing
Many customers who initially planned to purchase the top-spec Nexon EV are now opting for the Curvv EV. The Nexon EV Empowered + LR variant, equipped with a 40.5kWh battery and offering a claimed range of 465km, is available at a discounted price. This variant, which typically retails for around Rs 20 lakh on-road, is now being offered at approximately Rs 19 lakh after discounts.
In comparison, the Curvv EV Accomplished 55 variant, with a larger battery and extended range, is priced at Rs 19.25 lakh ex-showroom, translating to about Rs 20.20 lakh on-road. Additionally, some Nexon EV customers are upgrading to the Curvv EV Accomplished 45 variant, priced at Rs 18.49 lakh ex-showroom, with a claimed range of 502km.
Curvv EV’s Appeal Despite Fewer Features
Although the Curvv EV Accomplished trim lacks features in the top-spec Nexon EV, such as cooled front seats, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, front parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera, it still attracts buyers. The Curvv EV offers additional cabin and cargo space and a fresh design, which appeals to those seeking an electric SUV at a similar price point.

Curvv Empowered + Variant in High Demand
The most popular variant of the Curvv EV is the Empowered +, which comes with ADAS. This variant, priced at Rs 21.99 lakh ex-showroom, is seeing the highest demand, with a waiting period of around eight weeks. Dealers have reported that the majority of Curvv bookings are for this variant, indicating strong market acceptance.
ELCTRIK Speaks
The rapid shift of Nexon EV buyers towards the Curvv EV highlights the evolving preferences of electric vehicle consumers. Tata Motors’ strategy to offer a more spacious and modern alternative with the Curvv EV seems to be paying off, even as the Nexon EV remains a strong contender in the market.
