Its first outlet in the NCR and second in India, after opening in Mumbai just under a month ago. The launch marks Tesla’s rapid expansion plan in one of the globe’s fastest-growing EV markets.
A Premium Gateway to Delhi’s Luxury EV Market
The 8,200-sq-ft showroom, leased for nine years at ₹17.22 lakh per month. It is strategically located near Indira Gandhi International Airport, key embassies, and top corporate hubs.
Doors opened to the public at 2 PM IST. With visitors greeted by Tesla’s full display of electric innovation, test drive facilities. A specially curated customer experience area.
Tesla Showroom: Model Y Steals Centre Stage
This launch also brings the Model Y SUV to India, which comes in two locally tuned variants:
- Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): 60 kWh battery, ₹59.89 lakh, 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, up to 500 km range.
- Model Y Long Range RWD: 75 kWh battery, ₹67.89 lakh, 0–100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, up to 622 km range.
Other highlights:
- Full Self-Driving package on offer for ₹6 lakh.
- Six exterior shades, black or white interiors.
- Five-seat arrangement, front ventilated and rear heated seats.
- Deliveries to start Q3 2025, with booking possible at Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurugram stores, and through Tesla’s India website.
Tesla Showroom First Look: India’s Fastest Public EV Chargers
The Aerocity plant has four V4 Superchargers (250kW DC) with the potential to add:
- 267 km of range in ~15 minutes (Long Range variant).
- 238 km in ~15 minutes (Standard RWD).
- Complementing this, four AC Destination Chargers cater to slower, top-up charging requirements. DC charging costs ₹24/kWh.
A Strategic Step for the Luxury EV Market
With Aerocity’s high-end visibility, record-breaking public charging rates. Aspirational product range, Tesla is obviously positioning itself at the upper end of India’s EV space. Experts opine that this commitment will bring pressure on peers. Such as BYD, MG, and Tata to level up their game.
